History of Great Lakes Coach

How we got started…
Our Company began in 1951 in Dearborn, as Great Lakes Marmon-Herrington Coach Co., to sell and service city transit buses. One of the first vehicles we sold was the Ford City Bus. Eventually Henry Ford discontinued the manufacture of city buses, prompting a transition to selling and servicing school buses.
In 1957, the company's name changed to Great Lakes Coach Sales Company. Expanding from the early days of school buses, the company has grown to provide transportation solutions for clients in such diverse fields as health care, retirement communities, churches, corporations, colleges, prisoner transportation, emergency command centers, airports, and mobile marketing.

Where we are today…
In 1999 we relocated the company to its current convenient location on US Highway 131, just eight (8) miles south of I-94 and near Kalamazoo, Michigan. Feel free to contact us at (866) 679-3397.
